PVC Sealant

The Kanaky Design PVC sealant for watertight terrariums is the product designed to take your PVC terrarium to a higher level of safety: firm joints, sealed joints and better humidity control. This sealant only glues PVC and does not serve as an adhesive for other materials. Its advantage is precisely that: it does not “glue” like a conventional glue, but performs a chemical welding between two pieces of PVC, fusing them together to create a joint rigid, resistant and durable.

This makes it an ideal choice for Kanaky Design terrariums and terrarium projects made with PVC panels, especially in tropical and bioactive setups where the airtightness helps maintain a stable microclimate and prevents leaks.

✅ What it does and does NOT do.

• Yes: welds PVC to PVC, creating a solid, watertight joint.

• No: does not glue glass, methacrylate, silicone, aluminum, wood or other materials.

If your objective is to seal a PVC terrarium, this is the right type of product: specific, designed for this material and with a professional finish.

⚠️ Important note: once sealed, it cannot be disassembled.

This is key before using it: when you create a rigid welding, the terrarium can no longer be disassembled without damaging the structure. If you try to separate panels afterwards, you will most likely break the joints or deformed parts.
Therefore, if you are going to seal, you should do so on the assumption that the terrarium will remain permanently mounted.

🛠️ Instructions for use (recommended)

For a clean and safe result:

1. Always apply horizontally: rotate the terrarium to work each joint horizontally (helps to control the bead and prevents it from draining).

2. Respect drying times:

   • Touch dry: ~10 minutes

   • Total drying: ~24 hours

3. Ventilation and safety for animals: we do not recommend introducing animals until the odor of the sealant has disappeared, approximately 48-72 hours (depending on ventilation, temperature and amount applied).

💡 Tip: once applied and before full cure, visually check the joints to ensure that no pores or unsealed areas remain.
