HID ballast

The Philips HID electronic ballast is an essential component for correctly powering light bulbs. HID in installations where you need stable ignition, reliable operation and long life. This model is designed to offer a plug & play experience and consistent power delivery, which is especially important when working with HID lighting in terrariums or enclosures where system stability makes all the difference.

✅ Stable ignition and long service life

Philips electronic ballasts are distinguished by their reliability and for maintaining a more stable power output than many generic alternatives, helping the bulb to operate more regularly. This translates into more consistent lighting and a safer long-term installation (with fewer start-up or flicker problems).

Important: They cannot be thermostatted.

🔁 Intelligent power compatibility (according to version)

This ballast is offered in two variants, and the compatibility between wattages gives you flexibility if you change bulbs:

• Ballast 50W: valid for HID bulbs of 35W and 50W.

• 70W ballast: valid for HID bulbs of 50W and 70W.

This allows you to adjust your setup without having to change the entire system if you switch from one power to another within the compatible range.
